Lyceum

Lyceum

Quite often when preparing a listing description for selling a boat, the yacht broker will get from the seller a lengthy and somewhat boring list of “work history” that isn’t necessarily actual work but reads more like a timeline of when various bits of equipment came up for sale at the local marine store. Not so the case with Lyceum!

The seller of Lyceum’s work list reads more like a detailed chronology of a thorough and pro-active restoration keeping Lyceum in good working order not just for the next season but for generations of owners to come.

Normally this yacht broker would place a boat’s work history towards the end of the listing description but in the case of Lyceum this information deserves to be considered and positioned first in line to show the reader that what is being offered for sale here is fully found and ready to go with adventures just waiting to happen.

Interior Layout and Accommodations
LYCEUM’s interior is finished in what some would call the Herreshoff-style of white painted partial bulkheads, joinery fronts, cabin sides and overheads accented by vanished mahogany trim, hull sheathing, deck and cabin beams, main bulkhead, door to forward cabin drawer fronts and cabin sole.
Interior spaces are accessed by way of companionway (with drop boards and sliding hatch) from cockpit with first step to top of engine box and an additional (single) step on face of engine box to cabin sole level
Ships electrical panel and switches are located on center line under and aft of companionway opening
To port and starboard of the engine box are single quarter berths extending aft under the cockpit seating
Port quarter berth extended for taller crew members
Galley equipment includes stainless steel counter top, stainless steel sink basin, insulated ice box, Cookmate single-burner alcohol stove and plentiful storage options in drawers and lockers.
Partial bulkheads port and starboard separate the forward ends of the quarter berths from the galley area (to port) and a sitting / storage bench to starboard.
Moving forward galley and sitting areas are again separated by partial bulk heads from settees  port and starboard that extend forward to the main bulk head which has cut-outs to allow the settees to be used as single berths.
Next forward is the main bulkhead with center line door to forward cabin
Forward cabin houses Airhead compositing toilet, storage of life jackets, foul weather gear miscellaneous lines and gives access to cha locker
