Dylan 2026

Dylan 2026

Dylan is built as a sister ship to Harper, using the same proven construction method the yard has relied on for about 15 years. Rather than reinventing the hull, the team spent its effort on systems and sailing hardware, and updated Harper alongside Dylan so the two match (they are part of the same fleet based in Newport, RI). Spars and structure came from trusted partners: Hall Spars built the rig, Moore Brothers the rudder, Irons Brothers (UK) the keel, and SDK Engineering designed the keel and rudder.

The biggest change is sail control. Harper was built at its owner’s request as a day sailer, so many controls sat on simple purchase systems that were rarely adjusted. Dylan brings that adjustability back, now fully push-button: a centralized hydraulic pump and electronically controlled manifold run the outhaul, Cunningham, vang, Code Zero tack, and backstay, plus a jib-related retention system. Duplicate buttons around the cockpit let crew work every function without getting in guests’ way. Several winches kept their layout but got brushless motors for faster line, jibe, and furling speeds, and a powered spinnaker furler was added.

Electronics were also upgraded, with Starlink, forward-facing sonar, and improved AIS and autopilot.
