Visitors to the site will find information about the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta, ERR registration forms and information about other Maine / New England classic yacht regattas.
RESTIVE

48' Cruising Racing Sloop designed by Niels Hellberg of John G. Alden Naval Architects
This boat replaces the owner's previous Restive which was a smaller yawl designed and built in aluminum by Paul Luke. The owner (who also owns a Joel White / BBY Center Harbor 31) plans to use this boat very much the same way he used its predecessor. For single handed day sailing, family cruising and races to Bermuda.
RESTIVE is scheduled for launching on May 1. After commissioning and sea-trials she will make her racing debut on June 16 when she appears on the starting line of the centennial running of the Newport to Bermuda Race.
GERANIUM

34' Spirit of Tradition Daysailor designed by Robert Stephens of Brooklin Design Associates. View Lines Drawing (opens in a new window)
From all outside appearances Geranium will appear much like the classic Herreshoff Buzzards Bay 25. However closer inspection will show this boat to be a modern rocket as the hull is constructed of a carbon fiber / wood / epoxy laminate for lightness and strength, the underwater profile shows a deep fin / bulb keel with balanced carbon fiber spade rudder and the impressive sail plan is hung on a modern carbon fiber spar. Geranium is scheduled for launching this spring and her owner will use her for day sailing in the waters surrounding Mt. Desert Island.
The owner’s previous boat (also a 34' Spirit of Tradition Daysailor, also named Geranium) is offered for sale by Brooklin Boat Yard Brokerage and details of this boat can be found in the Boats for Sale section of this website.
Lo An

26' Runabout / Utility Boat designed by Robert Stephens of Brooklin Design Associates. View Lines Drawing (opens in a new window)
Purpose designed and built for the Maine Coast this boat features a center console steering station, an open transom for ease of dinghy launch / retrieval and will be water jet driven to help navigate the lobster trap strewn waters of Blue Hill Bay. Besides her primary use as a platform from which to explore the islands and bays of down east Maine Lo An will most likely also be pressed into service as a support boat / tender for her owners other boat Hoi An (50', Bob Stephens designed, BBY built, Spirit of Tradition sloop) when she competes in local races.
