BUZZARDS BAY 25 OFFERED FOR SALE

Built by Brooklin Boat Yard in 1996 the NG Herreshoff designed Buzzards Bay 25 SAY WHEN (ex: TOMAHAWK) could easily be mistaken for a brand new boat. Given the loving attention and consistent equipment upgrades by her previous and current owners it is of little surprise that SAY WHEN was one of the winners of the 2012 Wooden Boat Show’s Concours d’Elegance.

WINTER UPDATE

Feb 6, 2013

Brooklin Boat Yard is a very busy place this winter as work progresses on three new boat construction projects.

SONNY II, AMELIA & LYNNETTE

A goodly portion of the main shop floor is occupied by the hull for SONNY II (Dieter Empacher designed 70’ sloop). The hull is now all planked, the final exterior layer of fiberglass has been applied and the keel boss (deadwood) is in the process of being installed. It is expected that SONNY II’s hull will be moved outside the shop, rotated right-side up and moved back into the shop within the next week (We’ll post photos!!).

HULL PLANKING ON SONNY II

The remainder of the shop floor is being taken up by LYNNETTE & AMELIA the two Eggemoggin 47’s. Having been started a little earlier, LYNNETTE is a little further along than her sistership AMELIA but both boats are right on track for their intended launching dates this spring / summer

Up on the second level of the main shop various components for the interiors and exteriors of all three boats are being fabricated as is also the cabin house for AMELIA.  LYNNETTE’s cabin house was built here previously but has since been moved to one of our other shops for preliminary paint & varnish work.

The third floor of the main shop is also occupied with construction of interior & exterior components and most of these will be for SONNY II with a significant portion of available space being taken up by the construction of SONNY II’s large circular dinette. Prior to this project space on  the third floor had been pretty well taken-up with cockpits for both of the Eggemoggin 47’s but like LYNETTE’s cabin house the cockpits have been moved to another location for paint and varnish work
